After seeing u/obrien654j's post about his Python T9 engine, and reading here and there that others agree that the current state of T9 is lacking (to say the least) on a lot of dumb phones, I thought I'd submit my work so far on an alternative T9 input app for Android.I couldn't get the Traditional T9 app to work on my ZMI Z1, so I resorted to writing my own.

Is there an updated alternative to Traditional T9 IME that has emoji support? Question. I'm using the Duoqin/QIN F21 Pro, and I'm using Traditional T9 as an input method. The last update was from 2016, it was designed for Android Gingerbread and made for some older Android-based keitais (Japanese flip phones).
It only really needs the keymapping to work and an easy accessible option for basic ABC input to consider using it as the default input on all of my devices. I will try it on the F21 as that device could REALLY use better input (I kind of have Traditional T9 IME updated version working, but this seems better in it's simplicity).

Anyway, its firmware included a modified version of the AOSP keyboard that had predictive text (T9) support bolted onto it. It also got an update with a customized version of the Japanese IME "FSKAREN" with 10 key kana input support, after customers complained about the annoying Open Wnn IME it originally shipped with.
