Feb 14, 2011 The GU81m is one amazing outputpentode. At the moment i have it running at 1300V/400mA at 5K-plateload. The parafeedchoke is 2x11H (so 44H in series), EI180x125 (35kg). The outputtransformer is 2x1K15 (so 5K in series), same size. All transformers are home-made.

Feb 14, 2011 Not sure did you want to made SE or PP amp with those GU80 tubes , but for HI -FI audio use go with PP/AB class with 1,2KV B+ and 0,6KV for G2+ and G3 tied on the ground line . Jan 9, 2012 From a B+ of 1kV ( outside edge of manageable ) and a 400 mA/tube idle point. Run g2 at 600 V. A load of between 4 and 5k a-a is called for for Class A. You'll get ~ 1k8V across the primary WITHOUT crossing into positive grid current territory ( about 170V p-p g1 signal).

Nov 19, 2019 If it will be needed, I can offer ceramic sockets for GU81M. 2pcs, used, but in very good clear state, with complete set of metal bracing around the ceramic base. I was looking for these sockets very long time, since had 6pcs of GU81M and planned project. But it seems not realistic for me now. Expensive and not enough time.
