Im far from alone in this, seeing as it is widely considered the best manual focus camera Minolta ever made, and even won the European Camera of the Year award when it came out in 1981. This means it beat out my beloved AE-1 Program, which released that same year.

I think my first camera was a Agfa box camera for 126 cartridge film. Then followed a 110 film Agfa Ritsch-Ratsch pocket camera. Next was a Rollei 35 TE, Minolta XD 7 and finally X 700. After that I switched to digital and meanwhile take pictures only rarely (besides with the iPhone).

You need two 1.5 to 1.55 volt batteries. Make sure that you have the batteries properly inserted and that the battery connections are not corroded etc. .
Officially, there is a minor difference between Minolta flash models, 000x and 000px. The X version was for the XD model camera, the PX version is for the X-700. In reality though, both work interchangeably, it's just the PX version support the Minolta Program mode (P).
