I bought mine in 1974 and thought it was more advanced than the competition . Everything about it was just right . I also loved the lenses and preferred the 55mm focal length over the standard 50mm. Only Zenith cameras had a bigger standard lens that was 58mm. Today , my walkabout favourite lens is 60mm and 28 mm for wider views .

The replacement ST605 and ST705 allowed the use of modern button cells, with the 705 also enabling open-aperture metering with Fujinon lenses. After a few false starts with bargain-bucket broken ones, I ended up with a nice ST605 and its regular stop-down metering.
